Nvidia driver on USB installation medium

Hello

i was just the testing with live usb and booted with nvidia graphics on boot screen.

I am not able to use the the nvidia graphics card. nvidia-settings and nvidi-smi both give errors. i have done nothing till now. just made a bootable disk from iso and booted my machine, opened the konsole and typed the above commands.also twice downloaded the iso and used rufus to create the bootable disk. balena gives error when creating the bootable usb.

how is this possible

Hi there, welcome to the forum.
Please provide your garuda-inxi, as requested in the topic template.
By-the-way, you could install with free drivers, then switch to the proprietary drivers later...

Thanks for a quick reply.

I will try with free driver and install it. still if i have problems will get back with the issue and the info you asked shortly.

thanks again

what do you suggest i should install the nvidia drivers just after booting from install or should i setup everything and then install it?

ok so installed. the garuda installer ran and asked to installed non free nvidia drivers and and i let it.

after reboot i can see couple of problems on a brand new install

first the top bar transparency is gone!!!

second nvidia driver throwing errors:

so installed on similar machine. and the top bar is not transparent even on fresh install and boot even before updating. nvidia drivers are borked on both.

also do you guys add homepage to firedragon during setup process after install?

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Make a report to KDE, we can’t change it.

yeah what can us do. any tips

Try resetting Latte to deafult settings from Garuda Assistant.
Chances are low, but give it a try...

been there. done that,.

this time there is no desktop. its hung up.

looks like i have to use the hammer.

Everything stuck? No way to logoff and on or reboot? Does ctrl+alt+T give you a terminal? Or switching to a tty to reboot?

nothing. nada

Sorry I have no clue.
I'm not a Nvidia user, I read of several Nvidia drivers issues lately, but didn't follow that up...

No problems here on two PC with three DE’s, but you use a laptop search for prime or something like this in forum.
