So tty helped indeed. type startx
Also try booting up that one to see if the kernel makes a difference https://builds.garudalinux.org/iso/garuda/kde-barebones/210110/garuda-kde-barebones-linux-lts-210110.iso

Hi all,
I'm not sure this can be helpful now, but I encountered the same problem on a very similar platform (AMD Radeon R3 graphics on AMD A9 processor) and managed to sove it adding boot kernel parameter iommu=soft according to the Arch forum discussion below:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=264483
I've seen several topics in the forum related to this problem, I think it wouldn't make sense to open a new one, so I thought to write here, in the only one specifying the AMD platform (which is most likely the root cause).
I hope this could help someone doing forum search in the same way I did ("black screen USB live").
Anyway, now I'm a new very happy Garuda Linux Dragonized user
what desktop environment are you using??
This is a very old post, everything was solved, at least for me.
I kindly ask the mods to close it.
PS: this was probably my first post in this forum and I just recognized I started with a necro-bump
