Did mokka do away with the purple borders? Or did I mess something up?

The cause should be a version mismatch for kwin-effect-rounded-corners-git.
Try to reinstall kwin-effect-rounded-corners-git or use this:

garuda-update -- -u

and then reboot.

Thank you so much!
I had the exact same issue, and running garuda-update -- -u and rebooting fixed it perfectly.
Your post really helped me out. Appreciate it! :folded_hands:

Please pay attention to warnings and error messages in the terminal with every system update. If, as in this case, the message

warning: kwin-effect-rounded-corners-git: local (blabla) is newer than chaotic-aur (blablabla)

is displayed, then kwin-effect-rounded-corners-git no longer works after the update.

Either you reinstall the package (ignore the downgrade warning - the packages themselves are identical, the mirror just shows a wrong package version) or you use garuda-update -- -u to perform a system update which takes over this part at the same time.
