Hello,
I managed to get a discreet gpu and installed it using proprietary drivers (took 2 hrs because my PC turned to stop motion KDE effects setup after disabling igpu in the bios and it completely forgot it has internet access (kept getting errors unable to reach repo). The mouse would move in super, super, super slow motion, kept missing the restart button since it would jet across the screen & I’d have to look for where it went. The password took 30 min to type to allow installation, almost pulled out all of my teeth just trying to image myself here asking for help for this stop motion effects but finally I’m back).
First of all a major kudos! to the team optimizing Garuda via updates, they’ve shaved off 8 sec from my boot-up times, your efforts have not gone unnoticed. I noticed Garuda is very sensitive to even slight hardware mis-configs (they can cost you dearly). I’ll try do something about this financially (contribution) as appreciation once I’m settled.

I’m having a funny issue. When I was using the igpu, videos in VLC would play with both sound and video on webm files but now, some webm files play with sound but no video. I’ve run this sudo pacman -S vlc-plugins-all but all is up to date and still the issue persists. All other file types are fine except for some webm.
UPDATE : I’ve just realized the webm files with the video codec av1 play with sound only, no video but those with the video codec vp9 are both good for video and audio on VLC.
What could be the issue? Why play well on the igpu but discreet gpu is choosy?
