i have a suggestion - can we get a new theming . i really want [ Tokyo Night ] theming and i think it suits garuda linux soo much.
also i liked the dragonized aura, material theming for the rani app and i wanted it to replicate it to my whole kde theme . is it possible ? . i saw a theming option and imported it and i don’t know how to apply it, i tried to add it via global themes.
Maybe you should of introduced yourself first, said you have a suggestion for a new theme, and actually post a couple of images of it. I for one don’t like having to chase down something that could of been posted.
fixed it.
also @mak-bacc@mak-bacc are my old accounts, I’ve been using garuda linux from its initial release from 2020 and i lost both these account due to 2fa linked to my auth app which i uninstalled without remembering i had garuda 2fa on it.
What would be the gain for Garuda to have a 3rd KDE theme?
How different from the actual 2 this Tokyo theme would be in order to bring gains to Garuda? (not talking about colors, I’m talking about a specific new goal of the theme vs the other 2 we got)
Is there a trend on the market about this particular theme (like it was the case with the Catppuccin theme we introduced earlier this year)?
I don’t know about garuda having gains by introducing this new theme, i just feel like tokyo night is like
the nighlty version of garuda dragonized
seeing garuda dragonized for the first time it gave me full cyberpunk vibes with neons and flashy colors and moka straight up went into a cute pastel style.
I think tokyo night will be like a night version of cyberpunk , it retains the neon style and spirit of dragonized theme.
as dragonized is flashy and neon like, i think tokyo night can maintain the neon feel but less flashy. More dark and chill.
tokyo night is slowly catching up in popularity as catpuccin
felt like tokyo night is the perfect dark theme for dragonized - Thanks for considering!
And it says Modified from https://github.com/catppuccin/kde
Looks way too much like our Mokka Edition (Catppuccin), which I am not surprised as it’s based on it
3 important strikes to begin with is usually where I stop looking at a theme or major change, unless something opposite comes in to balance them all out.
On the other hand it does not look too difficult for anyone to reproduce it on his installation.
You also remove Kvantum from the equation as Tokyo uses Breeze Application Style. You simplify your theme in that way.
Modifying your theme yourself should not be impacted by our theme updates, so you can do like many and build a theme specific for you from Tokyo Night.
As for
I think there are only 4 themes possible:
Dr460nized Dark
Dr460nized Light
Mokka Dark
Mokka Light
No way for people to modify the Rani theme, as of yet, I believe @dr460nf1r3 ?
i don’t want a new edition perse rather just a new color scheme, iam trying and experimenting the tokyo night color scheme by duplicating the moka color scheme since its already well integrated into whole distro.
so far i found very less kde related tokyo night themes, so i wanted to ask here if it’s possible to add a new color scheme but i made a mistake by not mentioning [ color scheme ] since it’ll be very easy to create.
iam not that good in figuring out the color palette for Tokyo night, so it’s like just a request if you could create a new color scheme as you did for the various catpuccin colors.
is it difficult to create? and to maintain?.
if it is then no problem. i will try and experiment the color scheme to bring it as close to tokyo night.
Install the KColorChooser app and you can easily find the color codes required to create your own personalized color scheme.
In the KColorChooser app press the “Pick Screen Color” button and then move your mouse cursor to any color you like on your screen. As you move your cursor the color codes will be displayed on the lower right hand corner. Once you have found a shade of color you really like, press the “Add to Custom Colors” button. This will save the color code for any shade you like, and then you can substitute this color code for any shade you don’t like.
Do a bit of searching on where to find the KDE 6 color scheme config files location. Then create your own new color scheme with a unique name. By replacing the old color codes you don’t like with your new preferred color codes, you can modify any shade to your liking. I’ve used this method in the past with older versions of KDE, and I assume it still works with KDE 6.
Using the Kate text editor’s “Search” and “Replace All” function you can replace all instances of any color codes you don’t like with color codes you do like in the configuration file. Don’t bother asking me for more details, as I haven’t used this method since KDE 4 to create my own color schemes. I’m sure the configuration file names and locations have likely changed with newer versions of KDE. However, I’m also sure the internet can provide all the info you require if you spend an adequate amount of time researching on your own.
I’ve Tried this method for konsole since there is no tokyo night theme for it.
so far I’am getting closer to properly replicating it but thanks for the advice.
