New Pacman update breaks pacseek

Just as an info :wink:

βœ… System health check passed. No issues found.
Run garuda-health --fix to apply fixes.

>-<->-< garuda-update at 2025-12-13 20:15 GMT(+00)

spawn pacman -Su
?[?25l:: Starting full system upgrade...
 there is nothing to do
?[?25h
--> Updating AUR packages with paru..
paru: error while loading shared libraries: libalpm.so.15: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Paru exited with error code 12

so the solution is to downgrade pacman to get pacseek to work again ! (while we wait for the fix.

sudo downgrade pacman

Was just going to report the same issue

Rebuild paru or yay manually would get you going again, pacseek will need more work.

Thanks i have found a solution for me but , i dont want people doimg this and forget later to remove when its fixed :wink:

Depending on ones installed software in this case one fix may not work for everyone, better to wait.

Yeah, I tried, but I keep getting compile errors such as:
error: could not compile 'alpm' (lib) due to 3 previous errors

All I did was clone the AUR repo, and run makepkg -s. If there’s a different method by which you compiled paru I’d love to hear how!

My post said to rebuild paru or yay manually. :upside_down_face:

β€œyay” :rofl:

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lalpm: No such file or directory
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

make: *** [Makefile:114: yay] Error 1
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
    Aborting..

From their website which I used lastnight.

sudo pacman -S --needed git base-devel
git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/yay.git
cd yay
makepkg -si

strange i did the same way ??? Can show my other outputs but not necessary i think lol
( issue we know which package)
