I use pamac and pacman as my system update and package manager. I need to at least disable octopi and discover to work as memory resilient progs to remember me updating.
How can I do this.
Thank you beforehand.

Could it be that you are posting in the wrong forum?
It would be easier to tell if we could see your garuda-inxi.
Garuda Linux is a rolling release, so just do a system update every day, or at least once a week. Why do you need a reminder for that?
You can simply uninstall octopi and discover, and while youâre at it, you can remove pamac as well.
You can do whatever you want with your rig, but it is highly recommended to use garuda-update for system updates - this (and via garuda-rani) is the only officially supported method.
No I need those apps to stop reminding me. I understood that uninstalling those would cause some error, so I need to disable. Sorry for misunderstanding
I wanted to choose issues & assistance, I didnât intend to choose unsupported software.
Not sure what youâre asking but. If you want Garuda to stop reminding you to update, check under the âGaruda System Maintenanceâ app, untick âNotify if system is critically out of dateâ. Idk if Octopi has a reminder because I use it all the time and never seen any reminders, Discover might have a reminder option.
Iâm not recommending it tho. ![]()
Please try to explain yourself better in future.
If discover annoys you with update notifications, open âSystem Settingsâ â âSoftware Updateâ and set the âNotification frequencyâ to âNeverâ.
octopi has no settings for the âoctopi-notifierâ, which is probably running via autostart on your system. Check your autostart settings and the relevant autostart folders. If you donât find anything there, check whether octopi-notifier.desktop is present under /etc/xdg/autostart/ - if so, you can simply delete this file.
discover and octopi are preinstalled on some Garuda Spins, but these are only âthird-partyâ packages that are not necessary for proper functionality of KDE or Garuda Linux. You can safely remove both packages if you donât need them.
