the console recognises the ssd is there but im not sure what else i can do

What does Corsair say?

My new WD Blue SSD had to have a firmware update before it would work with any OS and I had to apply it via their Windows app–in Windows. :frowning:

The other problem is it may be formatted in NTFS, and the FS may be corrupted. NTFS FS’ are “fragile” under Linux.

  1. Do you have the ntfs-3g driver installed?
  2. Do you have Windows installed?
  3. What brand, make/model is your other SSD?

But FIRST where is the REQUIRED output of ‘garuda-inxi’?

im not sure about the driver would you point out where i would find it and no i dont have windows installed at the moment do i need it? my main ssd is a WD green 240gb

i have managed to sort it, i didnt allocate it to all users and only did it to root. it is now working ahah sorry for the inconvenience

You shouldn’t be granting access rights to all users if there is anything sensitive or of a private nature on the drive. If the drive only contains media files then it’s no big deal, but otherwise you should limit access soley to your own user account.

Mount via UUID, not via /dev/nvme0n1p2
