and I'd really really like to get it working.
How can I do it?

PS: On debian-based distros I couldn't get it working.
But I believe in Arch (to be correct, in Garuda!)

I think you should try nvidia-340xx-dkms in the AUR

By the way, have you already tried the HW assistant (Garuda Welcome - > Garuda Settings Manager - > Hardware Configuration)?

That GPU is waaaay too old and doesn't meet our minimum hardware requirements as well as being EOL by Nvidia and is therefore unsupported in mhwd.
