Hi ^^ /
According to your garuda-inxi, you only have one monitor recognised. Have you checked whether your HDMI cable might be faulty, or maybe whether your HDMI port on either device might be faulty? Also, is this an issue that's only begun happening after installing KDE? If you're dual booting, does it work flawlessly with your other OS? Lastly, is this a recent issue or has it been one from the start?

Providing additional context and what you've tried to get stuff to work would be very helpful :slight_smile:

i tried multiple hdmi cable and the port is working fine cause my laptop is quite new. i dont know when this happended but i used hdmi before and there was no problem. suddenly it wont work

Ah I just noticed this - did your other monitor maybe stop working after the update? Since you said you don’t know when it happened though, it’s likely not the issue but better to get it out of the way anyways, just in case.

Try rebooting and see whether things work again. The arrow at the end there means you haven’t rebooted the system after an update.

yeah i reboot it and still nothing happens when i connect hdmi :frowning:

Just to double check, have you tried plugging the monitor into a different device? Have you also tried other monitors with the laptop? (even a TV will do!)
If it really is a KDE/Linux issue then we will need to wait for a more experienced user to chime in. I'm not very well-versed in multi-monitor setups so this is as much as I can help you out, apologies :pensive:

Ah and lastly, what is the output of xrandr? Since your garuda-inxi didn't mention another monitor, I don't expect it to show up there, but best to cover all bases.

yeah cable and plug are okey. i only connected it to a TV i dont have other monitor.

Hmm okay, yeah it only recognises your laptop screen since it says HDMI is disconnected, unless you ran xrandr without the external monitor plugged in. ^^;
Waiting time :slight_smile:

In the meantime, make sure to search your issue here on the forums and on your search engine of choice. I see there are few similar cases:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=280132
and some of them mention Optimus, but Garuda doesn't use Optimus anymore - we use PRIME render offload.

Also, whenever you come back to this: do you know if maybe the monitor stopped working after an NVIDIA driver update? If yes, you may need to reinstall it with sudo pacman -S nvidia-dkms.

Is the HDMI connected to the Intel graphics or Nvidia graphics?
I have to switch my Nvidia GPU on every time I have to connect it to and external monitor because the HDMI is connected to the Nvidia GPU directly.
