I am looking for an application to virtually mount disks (.isos). Back in the day, Windows had 3rd party software to do this such as “MagicDisk”, “Alcohol”, or “Virtual CloneDrive”. Surely there is an open source linux application that can accomplish this but I have searched to no avail.
My use case would be for running old games that require a disk such as StarCraft or WarCraft. If I could make a virtual disk and mount it I would no longer need to keep an actual disk in my drive. Thanks for any recommendations/advice.
sorry…missing your inxi
& example open dolphin → right click on the *.iso image you will see options for mount/unmount
take a look also if your DE is KDE inside Discover (you will find some iso stuff)
or install vhba + cdemu
