Been using the mokka plasma for a while but I kind of want to switch to hyprland. I am aware that garuda has a premade hyprland config and I’ve used hyprland before when I was on vanilla arch so I sort of just want to migrate to hypr with just having garuda’s sane defaults and mokkas colors

Ahh… you can technically get the whole mokka theme in garuda hyprland itself. much easily …
it will be much easier to tweak garuda hyprland to mokka theme instead of installing hyrpland in mokka version and tweaking it .
As if you will directly do stuffs on garuda hyprland then you will have to worry about theme only, but on the other way(installing hyprland in mokka version) you will have to look on configs and other stuffs too … like conflicts and there is high chance of broken system if you will install multiple DE’s
TL;DR : install garuda hyprland and apply mokka theme
