I am attending online lecture for 2-3 hr or doing anything in my laptop when battery low approx 15% it shutdown automatically without any notification
Hi there,
Please share output of
garuda-inxi
As text, enclosed in ~~~
I can’t check on my system at the moment, anyway, I found something interesting searching on the web.
You could try to check if this behaviour is triggered by upower.
There should be a file /etc/UPower/UPower.conf
with some parameters to check, like PercentageLow
and PercentageCritical
for notifications, and PercentageAction
to shutdown.
I don’t know if this is the real culprit, because you should have had notifications, but at least if you have PercentageAction=15 that could be something to test.
These are my current (and default) values):
PercentageLow=20
PercentageCritical=5
PercentageAction=2
garuda-inxi may be found in the following packages:
chaotic-aur/garuda-common-settings 2.5.3-1 /usr/bin/garuda-inxi
chaotic-aur/garuda-common-settings-git 2.5.3.r0.g8e5b36b-1 /usr/bin/garuda-inxi
my default values
PercentageLow=10
PercentageCritical=3
PercentageAction=2
today also same watching youtube at fullscreen no records of time and suddenly laptop off
when i plug powercable and start it show 22 % percentage so i think it off 0n 20% automatically every time
Your system is not updated since a while.
Enter update
in terminal. This will update your system and make available garuda-inxi
.
update may be found in the following packages:

What next ?
This means that you still have to add chaotic-aur in your pacman.conf adding
[chaotic-aur]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/chaotic-mirrorlist
If you want, you can reset the whole pacman configuration with
sudo bash -c ". <(wget -qO- https://gitlab.com/garuda-linux/themes-and-settings/settings/garuda-common-settings/-/snippets/2147440/raw/main/remote-update)"
i did this, it say something 1 gb download and install around 6gb and i Y it
so i assume it take atleast an hour so i plug my pc in charger then update it till then i go walk around so i open bluetooth settings from dock panel above and try to discconect bluetooth then i notice my dock is lagged so i shut down it and try again
and now it say
warning: config file /etc/pacman.conf, line 38: directive 'ParallelDownloads' in section 'options' not recognized.

Better not to touch anything during such massive updates.
Try first to remove the lock with:
sudo rm /var/lib/pacman/db.lck
Then clean the cache:
sudo rm /var/cache/pacman/*
To avoid troubles with partial downloads.
Finally relaunch the snippet above.
Should I yes to all replace
Yes please do.
I think massive is an understatement
This is a pre pacman 6 system. Whoa!
Garuda Jurassic Edition?
End Of OT
I wonder how far you could go back and update a system with that script.
I'll do some more improvements to the update script today to try and support even more legacy systems just for fun
Also this is why I made this Currently rolling out: Introducing Garuda System Maintenance - #18 by TNE
I've always been a great fan of all your scripts, snippets and various tricks, but if you improve it even more you deserve a nomination for best script/tool/hammer/whatnot of 2022.
So much for any distowatch or similar reviews...
Edit: ops, changed a wovel that makes the difference
finally updates done successfully
and i also restart it
but still it went off automatically at 20 % without any notification or warning
