In the last couple of days, I have lost system sounds. VLC is muted. Everything looks okay in Settings, but I have no sound. Is there something I didn’t see using garuda-inxi?
What is the output of
systemctl --user status pipewire*
Should be unrelated (if trusting patchnotes), but you’re 6 BIOS releases behind: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B550-A-PRO/support

Have you had any audio issues in the past that forced you to change to any abnormal configuration or use PulseAudio rather than Pipewire?
Oops it’s fish, sorry I’m used to Bash. The correct version for that requires a quote for the glob:
systemctl --user status "pipewire*"

i got the same error message ive think maybe they swapped it to a user service not a systemd service.
Did you run sound on the Monitor or external Speaker?
Audio:
Device-1: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD/ATI] Navi 21/23 HDMI/DP Audio
driver: snd_hda_intel v: kernel pcie: gen: 4 speed: 16 GT/s lanes: 16
bus-ID: 2d:00.1 chip-ID: 1002:ab28 class-ID: 0403
I would try to disconnect the power cord from the PC press few times the power button wait few minutes and start the Pc again. (called cold boot)
My sound is working even with this error message. May a AMD Firmware issue.
see here this topic:
All looks good. Do you have audio working now too?

i run sound on external speakers.
I have no idea if this will help you at all, but I had a similar issue, and it happens occasionally that my audio just stops working. Since I don’t have any custom configs for pipewire, what I do is delete all the files inside ~/.local/state/wireplumber/
then issue this command in the terminal: systemctl --user restart pipewire pipewire-pulse wireplumber
and then it just works again. I found this solution from here: https://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux/comments/1e0tp14/comment/lcv5of7/
Hope this helps!

Anyone here can explain why the above solution works? Like, what would cause the audio to stop working to begin with that this solves it? Forgive my ignorance, as I’m sure there could be a variety of causes and this seems kind of like an overkill solution, but all I know is that it works.

systemctl --user restart pipewire pipwire-pulse wireplumber
I had to rename pipwire-pulse to pipewire-pulse, and it WORKED! Thank you so much!

You’re missing the pipewire socket, but have the services… How could that have happened?!
pacman -F pipewire.socket
Confirms it is indeed provided by extra/pipewire
… so you should most certainly have it, and it should have shown in the status.
Please reinstall pipewire
and rerun status command, it should then show the socket as intended.

Excellent it shows and is enabled once more, I can call this success now.
The socket should have handled it [re]starting automatically, but it didn’t exist.
sockets.target
A special target unit that sets up all socket units (see systemd.socket for details) that shall be active after boot. Services that can be socket-activated shall add Wants=dependencies to this unit for their socket unit during installation. This is best configured via a WantedBy=sockets.target in the socket unit’s [Install] section.
