Libxml2 Becomes Officially Unmaintained After Maintainer Steps Down

Big hit to Linux, so ig Garudo was build on Freevsd, would this be a issue we would need to worry about?

Read the first GitLab link in my reply above. It has been changed since when that article was written, and the “unmaintained” notice is no longer there. Garuda is not built on FreeBSD. libxml2 is used for 400+ packages and is unlikely to go anywhere in the immediate future.

I meant if you guys decided to move to a FreeBSD base.

As impossible as that move would be, we would still be equally affected as any other distro. Dependencies do not change entirely just because of the distribution or package management. Flatpaks, Snaps, Appimages, and everything else all are equally affected, because it’s a matter of the program’s runtime requirements.

They will lose at least half of their supporters.

I thought appimages didn’t work on Unix

Is this good???

GarudaBSD sounds like an interesting addition to the list of ISO files you can download. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

The four seemingly helpful extensions are Urban VPN Proxy, 1ClickVPN Proxy, Urban Browser Guard, and Urban Ad Blocker. They’re distributed via the Chrome Web Store and Microsoft Edge Add-ons, but include code designed to capture and transmit browser-based interactions with popular AI tools.

AI created as much carbon pollution this year as New York City and guzzled up as much H20 as people consume globally in water bottles, according to new estimates.

Another successful strike against the tech bros. This court case took 11 years btw. Another big thank you to Max Schrems and NOYB for persevering for so long and winning the case.
