To attract investors who have money but are not from tech background :upside_down_face:

Yeah, there is !
Not only academic but also the pollution due to it’s intensive resource consumption and much more stuffs :slightly_smiling_face:

I am more worried about the environment, resources of earth are not something you posses and have birth right to exploit it, there are other creatures too.

But big companies for harnessing AI’s is exploiting it so badly .

This would be so nice to have. I hope it gets traction,

Open source home automation? That’d be pretty cool, though I still enjoy raising and lowering my blinds myself (probably more so the older I get ha) for now.

I personally have some mixed feelings about this, however I am also against environmental distruction only to support a small few instead of the vast many. I see to much push to stress electrical grids so that energy can be rationed out, but big data centers who are running AI systems are aloud to over use energy. They want nuclear power to power up AI systems, but nothing for the rest of us (just to name one example).

What bothers me is none of this technology never needed to be that destructive in the first place. There are plenty of resources that we use that can be reused. Such as wind turbine blades, better silver recycling, and nuclear waist. These are potential resources that are only under utilized because of bad politics not bad science.

I will show you something, I have been watching this since 2016…

Every year, I watch these patent secrecy orders grow in numbers. When I first saw this, I saw that number at about 5800, and that number has really climbed alot since then. Ask yourself, how many of these patents could have reduced resource consumption, or even save creatures and people’s lives for that matter?

I can’t believe this is still a thing. How hard is it to get a cold wallet and keep your money disconnected so this nonsense doesn’t happen?

As some one who lost my one and only bitcoin back in the day when it was around 3200 USD. I agree. However

The EU is is currently in talks about legislation which could poteniall Illeaglaize, or at least severly cripple the use of cold wallets. The legislative work on the issue might have hit a snag (I certainly hope so) but it was on the table in late 2023 I think.

That’s good to know, I was unaware of this attempt to illegalize. Quite the paradox, since I think it is widely acknowledged that it is the way to go.

And I’m sorry to hear about your financial loss :frowning: .

Shouldn’t that be a means of payment?
Now it is an object of speculation, and as safe as betting everything on red in roulette. The value may double or it may be gone.

  • Tulip bulb stocks.
  • Stamps
  • Pyramid scheme

Everything is the same, it always goes well until the bubble bursts.

 Only the first to drop out win.

The solution to this is a simple one…if you can’t buy a Trezor or Ledger, then just use a software wallet. You have a software wallet for bitcoin if you load up TailsOS on a flash drive. Or, you can install a software wallet in Garuda for what ever crypto your after these days, transfer your crypto to the software wallet, keep the security words handy then just delete the wallet off your computer. This is what I do with my EPIC cash.

Later you can get letter punches like this to name one example; 74pcs Metal Stamping Kit, DkOvn Complete Jewelry Making Stamping Tools with 1/8" (3mm) Font Uppercase & Lowercase Letter and Number Punch, Metal Stamping Jig, Hammer and Steel Bench Block(74pcs 3mm) and place the security key on a slab of scrap steel and your set.

MICROS~1’s level is sinking…and sinking…and sinking even lower:

Read at your own risk (preferably with popcorn):

“We believe that Windows 11 is available at a time when the world needs it most – providing advanced AI capabilities and modern security benefits that customers expect in 2025 and beyond, highlighting that the forefront of AI innovation will be realized on Windows.”

Yaaa…that is not all I have a problem with… and for the record, I don’t like the Microsoft version of “security benifits”

Alongside our ecosystem partners, we will demonstrate how, together, we are continuing to advance the category and the industry, making AI accessible and more secure to everyone. And, as the world moves with us to Windows 11, we will welcome them with new features, enhanced security, improved functionality, and the familiar Windows experience they know and love. Our silicon partners will deliver increased performance, capability and battery life. Our OEM partners will offer incredible devices with breakthrough features at a price for everyone. And our global retailers will offer incredible selection, value and PC recycling programs to assist you in trading in your old device and selecting a new one. Once you have purchased your new PC, Microsoft provides a one-stop solution to make it easier to transfer your files, themes, apps and settings, ensuring a fast, secure and seamless transition.

One of my problems is “trading in your old PC”, why is it that you want me to give up perfectly functional technology for the latest and greatest option? What is inside these new PC’s that makes these corporations just want to ram down my throat so badly? At this time, I’m more compelled to spark up an old 486 PC with Windows 3.11 on it then to get the lastest and greatest “features and improved functionality”

If I have to make this comparasin to cars for just a moment. So many forces are pushing you to give up your old car for the lastest and greatest vehicle. Perfectly good and functional vehicles. You look at some of the older cars and they had almost no electronics in them to get in your way. Now, you can access someones car through WiFi and make the car go havok on the user because of all the hooks introduced into the system.

You can call me a conspiracy theoriest if you want, but it’s almost as if companies like Microsoft, Intel, Google, etc mean to introduce cancer in our lives to do damage over a long term setting. It’s almost as if someone or something is trying to put fish hooks into everything to intentionally cause us all harm in some way. :face_with_monocle: What a crazy and rediculus thought, right?

It only works as long as there are enough people who put up with it and happily go along with it.

AI dumbing down (better artificial intelligence than none at all), surveillance capitalism (if privacy is outlawed, only outlaws will have privacy), compulsory subscriptions (you’ll own nothing and be happy) and Microsoft syndrome (that’s the heightened version of Stockholm syndrome :face_with_hand_over_mouth:).

You can extend the list as much as you like…but hey, I read combined security newsletters every day and I always ask myself why no one has come up with the idea of making a comedy sitcom out of it

Get some popcorn, sit back and enjoy the show

I guess I’m lucky. It’s still working great for me.

Not me unfortunately. Knocked all my services out right as my verification email was sent for some forum I was signing up for. Had to wait a few hours to verify. :smiling_face_with_tear:
