This malware campaign uses baits such as a Roblox FPS Unlocker, TikTok Video Downloader, YouTube downloader, VLC video player, Dolphin Emulator, and KeePass password manager.

…privileges and install malware that becomes nearly undetectable.

Ring -2 is one of the highest privilege levels on a computer, running above Ring -1 (used for hypervisors and CPU virtualization) and Ring 0, which is the privilege level used by an operating system’s Kernel.

According to AMD’s advisory, the following models are affected:

  • EPYC 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generations

  • AMD Threadripper PRO (Castle Peak WS SP3, Chagall WS)
  • AMD Athlon 3000 series Mobile (Dali, Pollock)

AMD stated in its advisory that it has already released mitigations for its EPYC and AMD Ryzen desktop and mobile CPUs, with further fixes for embedded CPUs coming later.

A post was split to a new topic: What is zram and how does it work?

So many exploits on Intel and CPUs sometimes I wonder if it’s just best to stay off the internet. :grimacing:

A judgment about the design is always subjective.
Therefore…

I guess the writer likes mostly debian based destros :eyes:

and even though in the list garuda was 4th but among arch based distros , it is the only one in the list :eyes:

PS : Correct me if I am wrong :slightly_smiling_face:

Of course, everything to do with esthetics is subjective. Still, to even be on the top 5 list of a long established and well respected source such as Zdnet is very impressive. I mean, Garuda has only been around less than a handful of years. In that time, we’ve gone from being a completely unknown startup distro to one that is recommended by prestigious Linux news sources.

Even those that aren’t a fan of Garuda would have to admit that’s quite an accomplishment in such a short period of time.

…cleaning up that mess. In any event it appears that the updated XZ code for the Linux kernel is now on track for mainlining come Linux 6.12.

Privacy-focused VPN solutions that really care about its users, and not just for marketing, are rare to find.

Proton VPN is one of them, I believe. With its recent improvements to add more servers, Proton Wallet, and Proton Pass improvements. It is an interesting time to choose to Proton services.

However, the browser extension for Chrome and Firefox was limited to paid users.

Now, it is available for everyone.

New Windows CVE affects all implementations of TCP/IP with IPv6 as far as I can tell, since they don’t issue advisories pre-2008… Seems safe to assume vulnerability all the way back to XP! If you have a system that can’t be patched, then the only solution is disabling IPv6 support entirely.

I would consider the UOS AI client installed by default a major flaw IMO.

There will never be an AI installed on any of my systems as long as I own then. Not going to happen. :-1:

Anyone who has provided support for any length of time knows that Deepin is a bug factory when installed on an Arch based system. Garuda initially had a Deepin spin, but it was dumped because of all its problems on Arch.
