When I open any ide such as Arduino or visual studio code, I get an error because I did not start it with the manager. When I start it with the administrator, all the extensions I have installed are gone. How can I set the latte dock to start automatically with sudo?

This is not a good idea. What’s the problem just running the IDE with sudo from a terminal?

im using arduino ide and when i want to upload a code into my arduino card. Arduino sends permission permission error.

When I opened it with sudo from the terminal, I saw that the extensions and plugins I used were lost.

Hello, Can we see a screenshot of the error including exactly the command you use when the error is encountered, please?

I cant upload photo because im a new user. But arduino giving this error.

avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "/dev/ttyUSB0": Permission denied

How are you running/starting arduino? IE: Terminal? Menu?

Because when running as sudo your arduino is looking at root’s conf files. Not your $USER.

Latte Dock menu

Arduino should have a menu item to "run as administrator"... Are you using this menu item method then you receive the error?

In the meantime, checkout the links below.

Check This Concerning adding yourself to the group that the device(s) /dev/ttyUSB* belong to.

Set Serial Port Permissions for ttyUSB* Arduino Documentation

I predict your answer lies in adding yourself to the group that "/dev/ttyUSB0" belongs to, then logout/login and try arduino again.

All the luck. :crossed_fingers:
