Open /usr/share/fastfetch/presets/dr460nized with an editor and post the entire content.

Here it is :

--kitty /usr/share/icons/garuda/dr460nized-fastfetch.png
--logo-width 36
--structure Title:Separator:OS:Host:Kernel:Uptime:Battery:Break:Packages:Shell:Resolution:Terminal:Break:CPU:>
--host-format "{/2}{-}{/}{2}{?3} {3}{?}"
--battery-format "{/4}{-}{/}{4}%{?5} [{5}]{?}"
--gpu-key "GPU"

Line 3:

--structure Title:Separator:OS:Host:Kernel:Uptime:Battery:Break:Packages:Shell:Resolution:Terminal:Break:CPU:GPU:Memory:Break:Colors

Same as me, may be an copy and paste error ?

--structure Title:Separator:OS:Host:Kernel:Uptime:Battery:Break:Packages:Shell:Resolution:Terminal:Break:CPU:GPU:Memory:Break:Colors

Probably :slight_smile:
The parsing error occurs in lines 1 and 2. Check if the icon is there: /usr/share/icons/garuda/dr460nized-fastfetch.png.

That preset is untouched since one year

Probably something upstream changed the way it is parsed? E g.

I’d downgrade it for now, until someone can give a better look.

Yep, the icon is still there…

The problem comes with fastfetch today’s update…

The same on two different pcs…

Now that makes sense. I haven’t updated today yet :grinning:

Well that’s sucks.

The long deprecated flag based config files are removed.
They can still be used with xargs fastfetch < /path/to/config.conf
–gen-config can be used to migrate them to json based config files

Gotta update the config to json.

Easy to fix:

fastfetch --YOURCURRENT-FLAGS --gen-config

Replace "--YOURCURRENT-FLAGS" with your current flags and it’ll generate a json config in ~/.config/fastfetch/config.jsonc

or take this one:

  "$schema": "https://github.com/fastfetch-cli/fastfetch/raw/dev/doc/json_schema.json",
  "logo": {
    "type": "kitty",
    "source": "/usr/share/icons/garuda/dr460nized-fastfetch.png",
    "width": 36
  "modules": [
      "type": "host",
      "format": "{/2}{-}{/}{2}{?3} {3}{?}"
      "type": "battery",
      "format": "{/4}{-}{/}{4}%{?5} [{5}]{?}"
      "type": "gpu",
      "key": "GPU"

Can someone test whether it works when replacing the preset in /usr/share with the json content (I’m unsure because it doesn’t have .jsonc) ? And possibly also open an MR to the settings repo? I won’t be able to today, but can merge and push a tag as needed.

I have done copy paste on the dr460nized config-file. I also did generate config and both works like a charm!

Will be available soon (as soon as the previous build finishes), thanks to @SGS for doing the hard work.

just what would an aspiring linux user do if they had no fetch to admire, no software to configure or no problems to troubleshoot
