Kmail blank emails - headers show up just fine

All the articles I found on the web were about 10 years old. Anything newer had the same problem by no answer. Some were related to a version of QT. When I open kmail it will get new gmail messages and show the headers, but the email itself are blank.

I would assume this is around the last time anyone used KMail and Kontact. They are just not good programs, in my opinion.
