Kernels and graphics drivers for reducing power consumption

Hello,

After using the OS for a while, I like it overall but I have multiple issues that pushes me away from it. One of them is higher battery drain compared to other KDE arch based distros like endeavourOS where I can get like extra 2 hours of battery life with the same usage pattern.

I was wondering how to reduce this drain and my question is: can changing the kernel to main linux kernel or lts help in it?
also, if I change the kernel do I have to change the nvidia drivers from dkms to nvidia-open?
If yes, how can this be done since dkms drivers are required in some config files?
also, is using wayland better than x11 for battery consumtion and overall performance or it does not matter?

here is garuda-inxi output

Or just use EnOS

I did activate all the power saving tweaks. But still did not get much a difference. But will the points I mentioned in the original post affect the battery drain?

Did not get what you want to say. But if it is about enabling the power saving tweaks then I did

EndeavourOS uses a different kernel. Garuda Linux uses the linux-zen kernel by default, which is optimized for performance and actually uses more energy depending on the application. If you don’t need this performance on your laptop, then just install different kernels and test around a bit.

If you want to use linux-lts, then it is recommended to install the nvidia-lts drivers.

You can also try another power management tool in case kde powerdevil cannot handle your hardware.
You can find a detailed overview of power management here:
