KDE freezes when plugging in power or attaching usb c power bank for charging

KDE freezes when plugging in power or attaching usb c power bank for charging

Has happened doing nothing or when running a game using steam.

Did not happen before KDE 6 was released & could be part of another exploit.

Much appreciated.

Try new USB cables, faulty/damaged cables can cause the computer to freeze.

Also be sure to test alternate kernels.

Try a different power manager than powerdevil.

Have you tested running your laptop with the battery removed to see if the same thing occurs?

Or try X11 from login page.

Tested two different new usb c cables, one with a ferrite choke and one without; power from ugreen power adapter & from wall and power from shargeek storm 2 battery; both usb c ports freeze kde when plugged in with a source of power.

Plugging in a usb cable to power source before or during boot up or when turned off does not cause this issue.

Using usb c port for ethernet or some other use case does not freeze kde.

Have not tried the wm: kwin_wayland string yet.

Not sure what removing the battery would accomplish in this issue that has not already been proved by testing other usbc devices cables and power sources.

Much appreciated.

This often helps determine if a setting in your power saving utility is responsible.

Having some other small issues with install; figured this would be helpful in bug fixes; have another bug to post. Likely will do a new installation with the new “Bird Of Prey” ISO guessing this will fix the issue. If not will try removing the battery.
Much appreciated.
