This issue started last night and only seems to happen randomly while gaming. The only game I have is Diablo 4 and it’s running through Lutris using Proton Experimental. Whenever the reset happens, the top panel sits above whatever window is open, even in D4 which causes the game to render beyond the screen unless I have it in windowed mode. So far, the only recourse I’ve found is turning the compositor off using ALT-SHIFT-F12. Rebooting the system temporarily fixes the issue, with compositor on, until it happens again
Any idea why turning the compositor off fixes this? Even then, I’m not entirely certain it’s fixed since I found this recourse only a while ago. Is there a fix for this other than turning off the compositor?
TIA!
EDIT: Even with compositor off, I’m still getting random freezes in-game due to desktop effects being reset from graphics reset. I’ve done some more digging around and found someone suggesting turning on contrast desktop effect, so I’ve done that and rebooted. We’ll see if it works.
