KDE 6 repository / testing

Followed this procedure at least 10 times and I didn’t get a “reset” as you mentioned.
“Resetting” can have a lot of definitions too…

Thanks, for trying. I am wondering if I did something that wiped my shortcuts in the dock and replaced them with the default ones without realising I did.

So should I remove chaotic-aur-kde from my pacman.conf?

Yes, and you’ll definitely want to run garuda-update -- -u to downgrade any packages from their git versions back to the repo versions.

HDR ??
How ?
where is the settings for this ?
I have a 10-bit Monitor and wanted to use HDR with Plasma 6.
Thanks.

Nope, it wasn’t anything I did like I initially thought. All I do each night is turn off the TV with my shortcuts in place and the next morning it returns to the default shortcuts. I wonder if the something is running or kwin is restarting itself when there is no signal to a monitor for a prolonged period of time. I do also have the wallpaper in slideshow mode switching every 4-5mins

Before turning the TV Off at night

Turning the TV back on in the morning

If you right click on the desktop or go to display settings, you should see an option to enable HDR

I guess it’s only visible when an actual HDR monitor gets detected. I also read about supplying the monitor color profile to KDE somewhere in a post of them, might be worth reading it up.

Having a look at the logs should provide some insight about what’s going on. Haven’t noticed such a weird behavior myself yet, but I also don’t use as much icons in the dock

Great, thanks, where do I find the logs please? The odd behaviour is really interesting. Trust me to find some 1 in a billion random issue. :joy:

I suppose journalctl -e --user should bring them up

Since this also contains things other than KDE, filter them accordingly:

Thanks, I’ll run that command if and when it does it again. For now the logs seem to only go back 1 hour

So i installed kde6, rebooted my PC enabled HDR, launched resident evil 2, opened the options and the HDR was option greyed out, does it only work in some games or was this just an outlier?

This is the native HDR supported games list that I go by

I think there is only RE VII on the list.

no i meant it was greyed out

Perhaps it’s the proton version?

EDIT {It requires GE-Proton 8.25+ or Experimental. The game will prompt you to set up the HDR. For me though it just hangs or responds like a snail moving. I also get flashing transparency of the game until it hangs. I’ll figure this one out later on. I got the same issue with RE VII hanging when I tried on Saturday night}

Thanks !
.
Of course i not have observed this because running KDE 6 in Virtualbox. :face_holding_back_tears:
On my Host PC not have installed jet, but i very excited about HDR works now !!

Hi guys, to those who have successfully installed Plasma 6, do you see plasmashell eating up RAM?

Thanks.

No. Also in general I think people are reporting similar RAM usage as before.
