I guess it’s only visible when an actual HDR monitor gets detected. I also read about supplying the monitor color profile to KDE somewhere in a post of them, might be worth reading it up.
Having a look at the logs should provide some insight about what’s going on. Haven’t noticed such a weird behavior myself yet, but I also don’t use as much icons in the dock
