when adaptive sync is on always it causes the mouse to lag on desktop only, when playing games clicking the windows button also blacks out the screen due to adaptive sync, can anyone check if the bug is the same

Have you tried selecting X11 session at the login screen?

no actually will do that now; but I was hoping to not use x11 anymore since im using nvidia beta drivers 555 and it worked well before kde 6.1; but will test this out in a bit, also I thought adaptive sync wasnt on x11?

Can just use auto mode it will kick on for games an the like. an “should” be in off mode for the normal desktop. If you have more then one screen at different refresh rates you my have issues with it.

Done this already issue is with auto mode it causes black out when I want to use full screen window mode and click windows key to see desktop

I would maybe change cable, change the port used, Perhaps make a new user an see if the problem is there as well.
If all else fails also write a bug report on https://bugs.kde.org, Just make sure to give specifics and an what you have all tried.

Will do when I get home also it seems someone already reported it 487563 – Changing the "Adaptive Sync" option to "Always" drastically lowers the monitor frequency

I have the issue on AMD (on Wayland) as well. If “Always” is selected, animations are very stuttery, “Automatic” works fine, though. The issue was there before 6.0.5

Could you test automatic on a game and set game to fullscreen window and can you click the “windows” button to see your taskbar tell me if it blacks out for you . I need to do the taskbar while gaming to control my obs recordings and sadly need adaptive sync off for it not just obs to cause black screen

I always have it on automatic, since I have discovered that always is making things stuttery.
Just went to a game, fullscreen is on, I pressed the meta/super/windows button - the menu looks just fine. Also went down with the cursor and the dock is fine as well. No issues here.

Fullscreen window not fullscreen exclusive , honestly it could be a arma 3 issue too

Tried another game and tested: Fullscreen, Borderless, Windowed - all working fine. I do not have Arma3 to test.

Ok it got to be a arma3 issue will check in 8 hours after my job lol, still could be an Nvidia issue

Something definitely broke on the last update, might be NVIDIA might be another , not sure.

I have been using Garuda with Blizzard and Overwatch for years, something broke -I spent all last night trying to find a solution - no luck.
My son did updates - he is ok on PC , (he has black square too!) Im on a laptop - so maybe specific to laptop /NVIDIA

There is a small black square in the top left had corner of screen when a game is being played and windowed mode is defaulting which is not normal for my configs, the screen will flash black and go to game and continue like this. It doesnt feel right when it is working.
