Hello, many things in Garuda just do not utilize high refresh displays.
I am running a GTX 1060 Ti mobile and an i7 8750h, so computing power should not be the problem.
The wobbly window effect, scrolling, almost all animations are just sitting at 60 Hz.
I would love to know how to help this issue!
Try other Kernel, please. Post also

SinanAkkoyun:
high refresh displays.
Define high refresh, please.
BTW
Garuda do not write the driver for hardware, if Nvidia or others not write them for Linux you can’t push the problem to Garuda.
No offense, if you like to use Linux, buy hardware that is supported by Linux.

The probe states that I'd have an UX550GE but I own a UX580GE
High refresh means above 60 Hz. I tested it on an 240 Hz external monitor (HDMI), the mouse moves at 240 Hz but all animations are still at 60 FPS.
Which kernel should I try? Is it easy to change afterwards?
Thank you very much
There are two GPU! Search for it
Yes, via pacman or garuda-assistent (press refresh if list is empty).
Please search first in forum or arch-wiki next time.
I understand. But on the other hand it seems that Garuda strives to be the clean Arch distro, so a general problem with high refresh animations which do not only are due to my NVIDIA drivers is a general issue that the Garuda Team and users might be interested in.
I mean many linux questions and issues are discussed here, not only very Garuda implementation specific ones
This is by no means meant to be offensive in any way, just my thought process on why I askes here I really love Garuda like anyone that tried it, really

There is one internal and one dedicated GPU, I am not sure where you are going with this
Thank you! I am sorry, next time I will
Just to be sure, you mean I should check out the zen kernel? I thought this may be a software implementation problem and not a kernel limitation, but it seems that the zen kernel is recommended for desktops and will drain my laptop battery quite a bit
Check this and search for prime and similar
I will be updating this guide from time to time with new information as I come accross it or correct old mis/information that exist as I wrote this while being a newbie. So check back every month or so if you need.
Garuda Linux by default is configured to provide the best performance out of the box on your Desktop machine. With a little setup you can use garuda on your laptop just fine as well.
My laptop has an i7 9750H processor which on the default pstate driver thermal throttles very badly…

You know what? I am very dumb, I saw in the forum post that hybrid actually uses intel iGPU all the time.
After switching to NVIDIA everything except for scrolling in FireDragon and Firefox is smooth, chromium is a bit smoother but that really is no issue at all
