Issues with installing Garuda

Hey everyone,

i have finally decided to make the switch from Windows to Linux. After some research Ive come to the conclusion that Garuda is probably the Linux for me, since its gaming version comes with NVIDIA Support out of the box. Ive set up everything according to the guide on Garuda’s website:

  • Made a USB Stick boot ready with the ISO i wanna use (Used Etcher for that and the validation step didnt show any error)

  • Disabled Secure Boot in my UEFI

  • Couldn’t find Fast Boot in my UEFI (found out that AMD CPUs don’t even have that option)

  • Set the SATA Controller to AHCI

When I now boot from the USB i just get a black screen of death. Nothing pops up, not even a blinking cursor. I hear how my fans start to spin up faster when i boot from it tho.

My system:
AMD Ryzen 5600x, RTX 3060Ti, MSI motherboard

What I tried:

  • Use a different version
  • Use a different program to flash my USB
  • Tried different monitor cable and onboard GPU (But my CPU does not have an integrated GPU)

I asked reddit for further help and searched the web to no avail if the issue really is coming from my CPU.

Any help would be very appreciated, I’ve been stuck on this problem for a while now >:(

Hi there, welcome to the forum!
Please try again using Ventoy instead of Etcher and the grub2 boot option when prompted.

I used also Ventoy and started with grub2. I must wait for about 5 minuates and then was the live edition ready. After that i can installed garduda without any problem.
