I guess you could also change the startup command in the programs’s .desktop startup file as well. If you usually launch the program from your start menu that would certainly be more convenient.

Going back to the original topic of this thread. It looks like MESA and its associated programs have been further updated or revised. They install again with no further trouble. I’ve removed MESA from the pacman ignore and all is OK again.
