Issue with Plasma and Monitor Simulated Resolution

I have an Asus PG32UCDM monitor and it has these simulated resolutions: 27" and 24". The feature maps the resolution to your screen with black bars instead of a stretch and fill. It is supposed to be more accurate and better looking than the later. I tried it yesterday and got some weird behavior. Whenever I would mouse over the icons on the task bar, the icons would move to the far left and glitch out. This behavior even persisted after a reboot. Also, some of the windows were glitchy and were being drawn wrong. Anyway, I fixed it rather easy but wanted to report it just in case it wasn’t reported.

Fix in my case:

kcmshell6 qtquicksettings

My rendering backend was set to “software” so I changed it to automatic and restarted. The other setting was already set to automatic by the way. After restart, everything was back to normal.
