Issue with garuda's blur system

hello, i accessed my computer after a long time (last accessed around October 2023) and after getting it, i went for a full system upgrade,

i was using latte dock even after the release of garuda raptor where it officially ended all supports with latte dock, but it went good for a long time with out any issues until this update

after the update was finished, i rebooted my computer to find out the new fresh formatted garuda look where the late dock stopped working and the icons had totally changed. eventually i worked around with it(the latte dock thing) but one thing that caught my attention was that the default garuda raptor had background blur (active blur plugin )enabled and the menus were blurred but it seems too be a bit different here.

the terminal and the application launcher widget seems to be perfectly blurred

but other applications like dolphin, system settings and the menus are not blurred
(this does not goes the panels)

and note: desktop effects are enabled for that

along with this , the active blur plugin is also not working after the update, it just makes everything black and shows no wallpaper

i tried too check the compositor, but i cant find any options like latency, scale method, rendering backend or that “prefer smoother animations” that used to be there

i just want my blurred application background back
here is my garuda-inxi

Some of the blur you described (Dolphin and such) are currently under fix. A kvantum git package we are testing is working fine, I have no ETA on the release of the fix but it is under work.

Plasma 6 has made some nasty changes which made many things not function properly.

so that means it would be fixed after the official release of plasma 6?

People at Garuda used a Kwin script called “forced Blur” to blur a lot of objects like dolphin. That script cannot be used in KDE6 as it was only developed for KDE5. They mentioned that in the thread about moving forward with KDE6.

Yeah, I used a tiling script for Kwin called Krohnkite; that has also not being updated for KDE6 and hence cannot be used :frowning:.

There is another script called Polonium, but I don’t know how to get it to work. The github says it was compiled for KDE6, but it also gives the same validation failed error.
I got Polonium working. It’s not as feature rich as Krohnkite. But it will do for now.

Blur gets fixed once the next Kvantum version gets pushed into Arch repos.

I just updated my garuda and passed to Plasma 6 environment. I have some issues with garuda’s blur system on some application.
