Currently trying to move from windows 11 to garuda. I’m currently stuck trying to get the wifi to work so i can use the OS for games. I’m trying to use the wifi adaptor built into my motherboard (B650m-e Wifi from ASUS’ TUF line) but I’ve ran into a major roadblock. The driver i need for my wifi is MTK7902 if I’m not mistaken but i have no way of installing it as i lack any form of internet connection. I’ve tried tethering my iPhone but it did not work. I also tried searching for a manually installable version of the driver to transfer via a USB stick but i haven’t yet found anything.
Currently running off a fresh drive on a computer which has had windows installed before. QuickBoot is also disabled in my bios. Sadly i can’t send the inxi due to the wifi issues but the wifi adaptor appears as Device-2: MEDIATEK vendor: AzureWave driver: N/A pcie: gen: 1 speed: 2.5 GT/s lanes: 1 port: N/A bus-ID: 08:00.0 chip-ID 14c3:7902
The official ASUS drivers are only for windows 10 and windows 11 so i couldn’t download them from their site either.
Is there any way to set it up without needing to buy a new external adaptor? thank you!
EDIT: ended up fixing it by buying another wireless adaptor and setting it up manually via a USB drive! (TP-Link AC600 Archer T2U Plus)
Aw man… well i’m determined to get garuda working no matter what. Are there any wifi adaptors under 50$ which would work without needing me to mess around with drivers?
Let me go back through my Amazon orders cause a while back I purchased one in particular because it handled my gig service and Linux installed the driver right out of the gate. I’m not making any promises that I will find it cause I just closed one Amazon account so there’s a 50/50 chance that I purchased it from that account.
EDIT:
Just went through ALL my orders under the current Amazon account bot reg and archived and could not find it.
