Issue getting second monitor to work

I am dual booting Garuda and Win11
I have two monitors both connected to my Graphics Card using DP cables.
The main monitor works fine but the second monitor will not display at all.

EDIT: I think this might be the issue, I get this when I run garuda-update
—> Failed to build NVIDIA DKMS module for kernel 6.15.0-rc1-1-mainline

Welcome

Garuda dont support Dual-Boot because Windo… hijacks Hardware if you dont shut it down correctly too.

on the inxi it shows that your system needs a reboot. Please reboot and post that inxi again.

PS. EDIT:

Did you installed the mainline Kernel yourself i read somewhere its not compatible with it so it will fail in a other Topic here in the Forum.

Take a look here:

If you still have issues afterwards, then try to remove :

Hi,

i do not know if you solved the trouble, but my RTX 4080 does not work on the graphic drivers Garuda installs. i use open source dkms modules to get around the trouble. This might also work for you.

You may have to uninstall some conflicting apps. If such is the case please do not forget to reinstall them after running the code below successfully.

See how you go

sudo pacman -Sy nvidia-open-dkms egl-wayland lib32-nvidia-utils lib32-opencl-nvidia nvidia-settings opencl-nvidia nvidia-utils

Thank you for this, I had to remove garuda-nvidia-config and garuda-prime-nvidia-config using

sudo pacman -R garuda-nvidia-config
and
pacman -R garuda-prime-nvidia-config

but after that the command you gave me worked, I rebooted, ran garuda-update and now everything appears to be functioning. Will continue to use as normal and see if I have other issues.

EDIT: It appears I have encountered another problem. Video works perfectly fine now but now Audio is not functioning properly. I can get videos to play audio just fine, but when I use the dial on my keyboard to increase/decrease the volume it does not make that “clicking” sound when I go up and down and also Notifications do not play a sound when they show up on my screen. It’s not the biggest deal, but I do use notifications quite a bit and not having a sound kind of bothers me.

Not sure why this would be. i do not use the sound functions of my graphic card for i like to use my subwoofer, so i use built in sound, and have no troubles with that.

You could check if your computer has a built in sound device by right clicking on the speaker in your system tray on your main panel and select configuring audio devices and see if you have two sound devices and selecting built in sound instead of HDA nvidia sound.

cheers

(Oh yes, you might want to keep the open source code i gave you, for you will have to do it again each time nvidia updates its drivers.)

I use a stereo system that I have connected to PC. I have QSC amplifier connected to a mixer that is connected to my PC via blutooth. I have no problem playing sounds. The only things that don’t seem to be working are the “clicking” sounds that Linux makes when you increase or decrease the volume and the sounds from notifications.

Edit: I think I have found the issue, all of the “sounds” are turned off and there seems to be no audio files for the sounds.

toggle the last one to on chancing the sound volume?

for sound on notifications maybe you find them in the system sound settings for the browser? i dont know im not on cinnamon.

Yes, I managed to find a sound package called “Free Desktop” which had some of these sounds. I got the ones I cared about at least, thank you for all your and Jeshu’s help.
