I know that there were technical issues of some kind meaning that Garuda stopped working with Ventoy (or Ventoy stopped working with Garuda) - is that still the case?
I’m planning to make an install USB stick next week, and it’s a great tool to use to put multiple .iso on the same volume. Anything I need to know here?
If Ventoy is still not recommended, what are the suggested alternatives?
Ventoy should work fine, using the grub2 boot option.
There have been some unresolved ISO booting issues lately, but in my opinion more of a hw specific compatibility kind, rather than Ventoy vs Garuda.
And it is still recommened in the installation instructions
Create a bootable USB using DD/Etcher/Ventoy/Rufus. Ventoy is the easiest method and allows multiple editions on the one USB, while DD/Etcher the most reliable.
Boot from the USB drive. When using Ventoy make sure to use the “GRUB2” option in the boot menu.

Thank you very much. The sticks I ordered will be here tomorrow and I am going to see a friend on Wednesday to help them away from Windows.
From what I was seeing with Garuda and other distros the issue was something in the software used to boot into the live environments. Nothing to do with Ventoy or the Distro specifically.
