Hi,
Okay, so I already know that if I go into Gnome tweaks, there's the option for "startup applications," and I can select apps to boot up during startup.
However, let's say I want to startup Discord on startup! Or maybe Xtreme Download Manager.
In both cases, the apps open up their GUI form...
I was wondering if there was a way to enable the service on startup but not the GUI...
For example, I use GNOME.. and after opening Discord once, there's the discord icon in the app tray(i installed the gnome app tray extension). This icon is still present even after I close the discord GUI. I get notifications if someone sends me a message! This is what I am calling "discord enabled as a service."
However, I don't want the discord app to open the GUI on my desktop on startup but just the service...
Does that make sense? If not, let me know, and I will try to make my question a bit more clearer
Anyways, so is there a way to do that?
Thanks,...
