Is it possible to remove hplip while keeping printer support?

Hello.

Post your terminal/konsole in- and output as text (no pictures) from:

[🔍] × sudo pacman -Rs hplip
checking dependencies...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: removing hplip breaks dependency 'hplip' required by printer-support

New to Linux and can't seem to find anything online. Was wondering if it is possible to remove hplip as I don't have a hp printer and I really don't like seeing HP Device Manager / hp-uiscanner whenever I open the Application Launcher. I do still need to be able to print things unfortunately and I assume printer-support is pretty important.

If you are new to linux, why you want delete some driver?

Hi there, welcome to the community.

You can remove printer-support itself and install drivers for your printer only. You should refer Archwiki for how to install those drivers.

Thankyou. Probably should of thought of that. Still used to Windows 10 and being forced to keep everything.
