Iptables in conflict

I have installed garuda mokka on my laptop. After this I’ve tried to install the VPN “Private Internet Access” (pia-linux-3.6.2-08398.run) which I downloaded from the offical web site.

However, once I execute the run file I am getting an error saying this:

:: iptables-1:1.8.11-2 y iptables-nft-1:1.8.11-2 están en conflicto.
(: iptables-1:1.8.11-2 and iptables-nft-1:1.8.11-2 are in conflict)

and I am not able to install the VPN.

I really appreciate if somebody can provide a solution for this.

Thanks in advance.

Seems like PIA’s installation is using the iptables package, whereas garuda has iptables-nft installed instead (which is the compatibility layer to work with the newer nftables, whereas iptables is legacy), and you can’t have both. I don’t know enough about how either of these work, but have you checked the Arch Wiki here: Private Internet Access - ArchWiki ?

Perhaps there are alternative packages listed here that would work for you instead of PIA’s installation.

Thanks for your quick response.

I just executed that line above and selected option 1, and it build a package and installed, however I am not able to see the app installed. Did I miss something?

If I try to execute it again it says it’s already installed:

1 aur/private-internet-access-vpn 3.4-4 [+87 ~0.02] [Instalado]
Installs VPN profiles for Private Internet Access Service
:: Paquetes para instalar (ej: 1 2 3, 1-3):

I think this installs only the profiles, no VPN software.
Why don’t you just install and use (e.g.) OpenVPN and the configuration file for it that the tool above will have downloaded (or download it again from the web site)?

I am going to give it a try. The wierd thing is that on my desktop computer I have Garuda Dragronized and everything works fine. Otherwise I am going to move to another garuda flavor or distro. Thanks in advance for all your answeres.
