Garuda Linux Installer

Error
Installation failed
There was an error installing the bootloader

Details:

Failed to install bootloader; the installation command <pre>grub-install-target-x86_64-efi--efi-directory=/boot/efi--bootloader-id=Garuda-force</pre> returned error code 1.

Use ISO download from Homepage.

How?

Use the link upper right on this page.

Which one do you use?

Here, click the second “Download” button.
https://garudalinux.org/

I know the bootloader on the daily ISO image has not been working for a long time. You have to boot and install the Garuda from 04-28-2024 ISO image, and update the system after install. I had to do that on my laptop.

Dragonized gaming edition

We talk about download links not DE’s.

Where’s that second download button?

Just use the link I posted or the one on this page.

Cloudflare direct r2

This?

I installed the iso from that page, I choose dragonized gaming edition and cloudflare r2

Maybe your hardware failed, Nvidia GPU?
Use the “normal” KDE and install games later with garuda-gamer.

If that failed too use the LTS kernel version.

Also use Rufus or Balena Etcher to create a bootable Garuda Linux USB as Ventoy is currently having problems.

First I will try using balena etcher with the same iso I was using
And if it doesn’t work I will try that things you said me

IIRC, the 240428 ISO’s work fine with ventoy.
@BluishHumility nows better than me

Well I just try all of that and it gives me the same error
This error always appears me while installing any Linux distro.

Did you follow the installation guide?

Did you use M$ and want dual boot?

Can you post garuda-inxi from live ISO?

When installing Garuda Linux, please make sure secure boot is disabled and Legacy bios mode is disabled. You must boot the ISO in UEFI mode.

A common reason for getting this error message is attempting to use an EFI partition which does not have enough free space to complete the installation. Are you installing alongside an existing Windows installation?

We won’t know for sure what is happening until we see the installation log. After the installer exits, run this command and put the URL it outputs into the thread so we can take a look:

cat ~/.cache/calamares/session.log | nc termbin.com 9999

Yes, for me as well. If someone is having an issue using the 240428 ISO with Ventoy, probably they need to update Ventoy itself (https://www.ventoy.net/en/doc_start.html). The newer ISOs (from the builds URL) do not work with Ventoy.
