OK, after 8 months and a rebuild, my desktop is running. I tried to install Garuda, using my internal drive as /home. I get a Python error regarding mount on that drive before installation begins, and Calamares aborts. I tried formatting the drive as btrfs, and the same error. It does mount properly using Disks.
Help!
I think a little more info may be needed?
can you provide your

The drive I'm trying to mount is sda above.
I ran smartctl and it passed.
oldrocker99:
get a Python error
What exactly does it say? Copy/paste it into the thread if you can.

Hmm, I'm not sure on that one. This might be a long shot, but can you try re-flashing the USB? Go for Ventoy if you can.
This person had a similar error message, and a re-do managed to fix it: Install failed Boost.Python error in job "mount" - Installation - EndeavourOS

Downloaded the .iso, flashed it and it is installing!
It was the flash drive that I booted from. I was still in the live session when I posted garuda-inxi.
