I cant set the right resolution of my second screen

Hi, first of all, my native language is spanish and my english is not good at all but I´ll try to explain myself.

I recently install garuda linux, gnome version. Everything looks good by the way, the issue comes when I plug my second screen. I’ve try to change resolution but only gives me 3 options, and none of them is the correct resolution.

I appreciate any help that anyone could bring me

Your GPU drivers are not loaded because the wrong package is installed for your hardware. See here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA#Installation

Then, install the appropriate driver for your card:

GPU family Driver Status
Fermi (NVC0/GF1XX) nvidia-390xx-dkmsAUR Legacy, unsupported

Remove the nvidia-dkms package:

sudo pacman -Rc nvidia-dkms

Install the 390xx packages:

sudo pacman -S nvidia-390xx-dkms nvidia-390xx-settings nvidia-390xx-utils lib32-nvidia-390xx-utils

One other consideration:

If you run into display issues on Wayland with Nvidia hardware, try testing a Xorg session instead. You can switch the session type on the login screen.

I hope that helps, welcome back @Esca_01.

Won’t he need an AUR helper to install AUR drivers ?
It should be:

  1. sudo pacman -S yay

  2. yay -S nvidia-390xx-dkms nvidia-390xx-settings nvidia-390xx-utils lib32-nvidia-390xx-utils

Right ?

Nope, but maybe on the OS you use.

Btw. Garuda has installed paru by default, you can use yay in terminal, it’s an alias for paru.
