I have been using Garuda dragonized over 2 months. It has extremely good visuals that i cant ignore, but ive encountered a few issues with the tools im using. since its gonan take much longer time and i need to handle asap, i wanted to swich to debian.
i created my bootable usb via balena as i do usually, but im unable to boot from usb. i cant change some of my bios options as well. i assume its about zen kernel(?)
i appreciate any help. how will i be able to handle this?
im absolutely confused about your reply. i was able to change anything before garuda, now im unable to. how garuda doesnt interfere with my bios settings
wow that is really strange. installing an OS on a drive should not effect the F2 menu accessed bios. so are you not able to access the bios using f2 or can you get into the bios menu but it doesn’t accept or keep your changes?
I would guess you can’t access the bios anymore. maybe the OS is booting so fast you can’t hit f2 fast enough. if that is the case have you tried just spamming f2 from the moment you hit the power button until you get to an OS or ideally the bios menu?
Have you tried using the F11 or F12 keys instead of F2 to enter bios? Often bios’ are configured to use either one to present you with a list of bootable devices, for then, as long as you have a bootable USB in your drive, it will detect it, and give you to option to boot from it.
Another approach i have been forced to use once to be able to get to my bios, was to completely unplug my computer, and take out the backup battery, so the bios is forced to reset itself on next boot. This should give you the opportunity to change the bios for it will automatically pop up for the user to configure rightly. However it will put everything back to default, and may undo things you have configured in there before.
Furthermore you can disconnect all your internal drives and only insert the installation USB and load Garuda from there and then go to settings and select desktop session and select to boot into your BIOS from there and then make your USB drive the first boot device, before reconnecting an internal drive. And see if that will solve your issue boot the USB.
