The infrastructure is currently being rebuilt.
In addition, tests are still required.
Here is a version that I have just tried out.
Just tried an older build from July as my system broke after an update and it was what I had on hand to try chroot.
Absolutely phenomenal work! So glad there's a Garuda spin of this in the works
The default theming is beautiful and the animations are really nice. Love the auto reload of the config too (not sure if that's a Hyprland default though, as there was also a reload hotkey).
Scaling for a HiDPI display is also so easy as well as there's a wiki entry for it! Some things like jgmenu were a bit over-scaled but I think if I'd put a bit more time into it, that'd be an easy fix.
I'd love to use this as a daily driver, but that would also mean you would have to tolerate my noob-ness as a tester ![]()
Soonâ˘
Well, SGS and Nico had already tolerated my noob-ness as a co-maintainer for a long time now so , I think they would have got really enough experience to tolerate people like us ![]()
Much appreciated!
Change all the pink to blue
In terminal use
sudo sed -i 's/c50ed2/226b99/g' /usr/share/themes/Sweet-Dark/gtk-3.0/gtk-dark.css
sudo sed -i 's/c50ed2/226b99/g' /usr/share/themes/Sweet-Dark/gtk-3.0/gtk.css
you get this and more ![]()
A little warning for anyone thinking of using the 230823 ISO on a system that encountered boot problems recently to chroot:
I tried to chroot using this latest release and I couldn't mount my NVMe device because of the recently discussed kernel bug, as this release uses Zen 6.4.11 which is the problematic one. The NVMe devices won't be able to mount. Says something about not being the appropriate type of folder or device.
Did not expect it to affect chrooting and mounting, but here we are ![]()
That might be more likely to happen by accident if you like to save a few ISOs on a little Ventoy thumb drive and leave them there for a while haha.
I also noticed that the scaling of Alacritty is more accurate(?). Previously when I opened it, the text was massive which was beneficial on my HiDPI display, but this time it opened super small like everything else. This doesn't matter too much since it's possible to zoom in and out in Alacritty, but it was an interesting oddity ^^ did something change with regards to scaling anywhere?
Try this one :
I have tried this one , didnât found any big problem in this right now, just you need to check out key binding for browser there
Hmm that one seems to keep failing for me
is there maybe a torrent or something I can grab?
I don't know
, maybe someone from @SGS or @dr460nf1r3 can help , It was working for me by dierect downloads
I installed on metall the
work perfect. Quadruple boot, M$, KDE, i3wm and hyprland on Nvme. Ther emust be a Hardware problem.
Yes, it's the hardware problem related to the latest Zen kernel bug that is affecting chroot for me, and would probably affect a bare metal install as well. ![]()
Multibooting is a good idea! Maybe I will try dual boot Qtile and Hyprland on the next release, or maybe even sooner
let's just hope that doesn't lead to me destroying something lololol
Very nicely done hyprland spin. Congrats Garuda team !
Hope this will get launched as an official option
The gui calamaris install doesn't work, but I guess you already know this.
sudo -E calamares -D8 (doesn't work)
sudo -E calamares -d (works!)
Work fine for me ![]()
You get a compressed error log file (note from a Calamares contributor, dalto8).
Just wanted to pop in and say that you guys did a great job with this. It's a very beautiful and highly efficient user experience. Thank you very much!
Thank you very much ![]()
and

That's cool. I love your work. The key bindings are so intuitive to even better than default hyprland keybindings. I even got my nvidia GPU RTX 3050 working here and my nvtop shows that its working fine. That's awesome !
I have couple of questions.
- wrt gimb as the screen shot manager, i presume there is no way to edit the screen short or take a custom screen shot ?
- I tried playing 0AD and noticed quite a bit of lag as it was defaulting to 256 card.
If you use ânormalâ 1920x1080 monitor try flameshot.
Please, open new thread, I canât help with this gaming stuff ![]()
Many thanks.
On the graphic driver matter (although I am using RTX 3050 and nvtop shows graphic driver is recognized ) I still get a message saying.
[warning 0.377] You are using llvpipe (LLVM 15.0.7, 256 bits) graphic driver, expect poor performance
[warning 0.377] if possible install a proper driver for your hardware.
Would you have any leads for follow ?
I also checked on the Arch forums and Ubuntu. Both lead upto to non gaming software issue (first was a VM issue which asked the user to use 3D acceleration and second was related to screen resolution stuck) I followed the leads in the both cases.
- Removed secure boot
- Changed the following in grub ```So I found that I had:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="nomodeset" ```
to
```GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=""
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""
and then update the GRUB config file with
sudo update-grub
Both the issue is still there.
This is issue does not show up Garuda KDE dragonised version, that why i am a little perplexed, and hesitant to open a new thread.
Hi, I would like to add one more point. I tried another build of hyprland and there too this issue persist. So this is not a Garuda hyprland issue, but more of a hyprland issue. I am going to raise it in their forum too -discord channel
