Hypnotix no longer working

Hypnotix no longer works when trying to watch content. it just spins. Not sure how to fix. I am using X11 and have not tried the wayland version. My install is up to date. I have Garuda installed on all of my devices and sadly Hypnotix does not work on any of them :frowning:

not the best app.

Yeah, Hypnotix is not well maintained, a shame, because when it did work it was an excellent app. I would suggest trying either IPTVnator or Yuki. I have not tried Yuki, but IPTVNator is good. I used the electron/bin version in AUR, but there are several offered.

Yes, this is most likely not a matter of Hypnotix. On one of my computers with Linux Mint Mate 20.3 Hypnotix works perfectly. On another laptop with Ubuntu, everything is also fine, and only in the new version of Garuda Linux dated April 28, 2024, after the update, Hypnotix stopped working, updating or installing the Opera browser also became impossible.

Which is always the case. It is not the application, but the dependencies. Either the maintainers aren’t communicating (however that works in Arch world) or the dependency itself gets updated too frequently, especially with Arch which rolls baby. ?? Who knows, but I have used it long enough to know, it is a headache…and there are other options.

Yes it was working for a long time until the recent major upgrades to KDE 6 which I actually love. Difficult to get adjusted to a new application, but will give Yuki a try. Hoping this gets resolved soon.

I understand the Hypnotix issue isn’t a Garuda issue. Just tried what was considered the fix from two years ago. Did not work on this end. Appreciate all of the effort from the Garuda team
