How to update Lenovo BIOS?

Garuda works fabulously most of the time , However , In some very specific situations , The Laptop freezes and the only was to use it again is to hard restart it.
I have tried most solutions i could find online , like :

  • Trying different kernels
  • checking for software incomplatibilty
  • switching from wayland to x11

The only thing left is to try updating the bios. There is a newer BIOS but i dont know how to install it on my Laptop ( Lenovo Ideapad 3 15ACH6 )
I tried anything i found online but nothing worked. Please help me

How have you tried updating your bios?

Please always include garuda-inxi even if it doesn’t seem relevant.

I hate to say this, but the easy answer is to boot Windows to update. If you don’t have a spare drive/license, then Hiren’s or MediCat may work.

It’s probably not a supported device, but if it is, then fwupd can handle it. Be warned, it may not be as smooth as doing it via Windows. Read everything before running any commands!

Sorry Guys , I simply forgot to add the inxi log . as for the update , I ended up pulling a ssd from another laptop with windows on it and update the bios that way .

I found a guide for lenovo laptops using fwupd , but it did not work. Maybe my latptop model isnt supported

We don’t know that and neither do you. If you’d give us your garuda-inxi output–AS REQUIRED–maybe we’d both get a frigging clue. Or not.

Here you go, garuda-inxi

(This log is after I updated the bios)

Reminder
After rebooting, post the FULL output of garuda-inxi in the body of the post
(not linked externally, or collapsed with the “hide details” feature)

  • Format terminal output (including your garuda-inxi) as a code block by clicking the preformatted text button (</>) , or put three tildes (~) above and below the text
