How to completely erase a software and any of its snapshots whatsoever

I am using a software called anki which is giving me issues. I downloaded it from github and installed using the install.sh file they provide. When I uninstall it using the uninstall.sh it doesn’t completely remove the software, some data of it is stored behind somewhere causing it to resume from where I deleted it rather than it resetting and starting fresh

Should we start looking here for where you got the program?
How about asking the developer directly?
