As I can can not determine whether or not the script

will work as intended when the following syntax error occurs

Problem solved! Thanks.
So I can just use this xdpyinfo without installing complete Xorg? Nice!
It is because my hybrid laptop performs so much better on Wayland as opposed to Xorg, that I decided to go for this beta software
Beta? no...say rather in active development. Wayland has been around about ten years, just was mostly sidelined most of that time It's definitely improving now...the major hangup is the lack of open drivers from Nvidia (imo). It's only now getting enough exposure to different hardware because a few desktops (including Gnome) are using it by default, to be truly debugged. I like it and hope that the next six months will see major improvements.
