Heroic Games Launcher stopping my input-remapper profile when launching wine/proton games

games work completely fine, the annoyance comes from it just stopping input remapper which is pretty annoying.
mouse input freezes a few seconds after the game launches too, which is probably related the input-remapper issue.
gamescope also doesnt seem to work anymore with heroic.

what ive tired:
switching kernels,
different wine/proton version (wine/proton version doesnt seem to matter)
tried different settings for the game in heroic,
used older versions of heroic.

not exactly sure when this started i only installed garuda about a month ago.

Is input-remapper crashing? Check:

systemctl status input-remapper

Test by disabling input-remapper, then launching the game.

stopping the service still freezes the mouse and when i launch a game from heroic, "systemctl status input-remapper" gives these messages:

To be honest, I'm really not sure on this one. Perhaps a more knowledgeable community member will chime in, but in the meanwhile it may be worth opening an issue in the input-remapper GitHub page. Maybe it's a bug, or maybe its not but they can tell you how to fix it.

They have a lot of issues open right now, but I searched around a bit and wasn't able to find anything that looked much like yours. I would say go ahead and open a new one.

The way you described the issue here is good information (including how to reproduce the problem, and the things you have tried), plus I would include that snippet of code from the journal from when it crashes.

Most likely off topic, but you’d better fix this.
Unless you’re explicitely ignoring some packages in the pacman config, this should be fixed with a

garuda-update -a

As far as the issue is concerned, maybe check if it occurs also in an x11 session, as opposed to wayland.
