Hey there,
I’m a 30 year old software engineer, originally from Finland but currently living in the Netherlands. I mainly work with TS and Go, picking up Rust and Zig in the meantime for the fun of it. I also play games, mostly just World of Warcraft because new games scare me and I can’t just get good anymore like I used to.
Recently I been on the scour for a new OS to use, after using Windows for far too long, and seeing it only get worse and worse since Win7 I decided it would be time to find a Linux distro to sink my teeth into.
I tried a few, you know the typical Ubuntu, Debian all that jazz but I just didn’t “feel” it. Swapped to Pop_Os and I loved it, but still felt like it was missing something. Then I decided, even though I’m stupid, to look for any Arch based system and stumbled upon Endeavour and Garuda. I tried Endeavour, and it was pretty cool but I also really wanted to try Garuda. A few hiccups here and there (mostly, as mentioned above, me being stupid) I am now up and running and enjoying the experience.
Though the Hyprland edition is VERY tempting, I’m probably gonna veer away from that until I think I’m slightly smarter and have enabled myself to figure out how to get Lutris and other cool stuff going and running relatively fast.
Will say, great stuff to the developers of this distro and I hope one day to be able to contribute in any meaningful way!
