Grub bootloop after update

Hello Guys,

I had a strange problem yesterday, after doing garuda update as usual, and rebooting, my computer started to boot in a loop, the first boot tried to load grub (and failed), after that the second boot took me to bios (?).

I tried rebooting again and the loop continues. I then tried reinstalling grub (following the instructions I found on that post (Grub fails after update - #3 by librewish) but after an hour of trying (and after thousands of errors) I gave up.

I tried restoring a snapshot and rebooting, but nothing changes.

I then tried using garuda welcome software to reinstall grub (Garuda Boot Repair). I tried installing grub using MBR and it doesn't work, I also tried with root and it doesn't work, so I tried the latest ESP. The ESP installation works, but now I have problems with Btrfs Assistant:

when I try to create a new snapshot I get this error: (open failed path://.snapshots errno:2 (No such file or directory)).

Also, I have a strange half-broken display of the grub theme (and it is quite unreadable).

Anyone have some suggestion to figure-out of this mess?

Thanks!

The same thing is happening to me, when the PC turns on it takes me directly into the BIOS, without showing GRUB or anything else. If via the boot choice I enter the Windows partition, it boots normally, but if I enter Garuda it takes me into the BIOS (I updated Garuda yesterday)

Have you guys checked out that thread?

Since they messed up the last update of GRUB (with ‘they’ I mean the devs of GRUB) it is currently a mess many ppl are suffering from it.

Greetz,

I fixed my problem. Create a Live ISO of Garuda, Boot into it, on Garuda Welcome click "Install bootloader" and fix your GRUB with the automatic tool

As i say with The ESP installation works, but now i cannot use snapshot anymore...

Ok i have create a new config file for snapper, and now it works.

But i got another issue on Grub: it works but continually show me error: out of memory.

For now i can anyway boot linux, but there is a way to solve it?

Thanks!

This goes more in-depth about the grub issue
