Gpg key is going to expire - what now?

hey, not really something garuda has to do with, more a general question about gpg keys; i use a password-manager that uses gpg keys to en- and decrypt password files, and i just saw that my gpg key will expire soon, does someone know what i can do now? maybe i need to somehow renew the gpg key like with ssl, or do i have to create a new one? btw the password-manager is called pass

edit: i have found an guide that claims to renew gpg keys, however after doing that i noticed that it only renews the public key, which i couldn't really care less about, since i do not use it to public-sign something, the private key still says it will expire soon
